FAITHFUL LEGACY: A History of the Second Avenue Church of Christ in Lewisburg,
Tennessee
ISBN: 1-932993-64-9 Memoirs/Religion 136
pages - $16.95
What can be said about history? It is the treasure of the present - a gift to all those who would read, reflect upon
and learn from all it has to offer. What can be said about church history? It is the light that shows the path we’ve
trod as we make our journey into eternity.
No congregation of the Lord’s people can do without reflecting on
its past. Too often the past is ignored; kept only in the minds of a select few as memories too precious to relinquish. However,
Christians of all ages need know both church history and the history of the congregation they belong to. The old saying is
true: without knowing where you’ve been, you won’t know where you are or where you’re going.
This
work is offered as a volume on the history of the Second Avenue Church of Christ. I have been blessed to serve as minister
for this church since 1994. During this time many wonderful saints have been called from labor to reward. I want to capture
their history and that of many other saints – both past and present. We cannot allow these saints to silently slip into
eternity. Their lives and stories offer encouragement and hope for present and future generations of God’s people.
