Chico Tails: Notches on a Leash by Sam ZaneISBN: 1-932993-57-6 Humor 272 pages - $13.95
Whatever has led you to pick up this
book, quick, look around and be sure none of your friends, relatives, or anyone else sees you with it. Do not let on that
you're curious, let alone that you’re thinking of buying it. This book has zero redeeming qualities. Nada, nilch, zippo.
Just bringing it to the register will raise eyebrows, much like a teenager buying protection for the first time, or worse
yet, a married woman buying a Kama Sutra book. But for goodness sakes, don't steal it merely to avoid the embarrassment because
it will only mean Hell to pay for all three of us: you, me and Chico.
This book is for anyone that has ever had a dog
from which to have learned unconditional love. Although Chico is imaginary, this book demonstrates that he is more than just
charming, suave, debonair, and an astute entrepreneur. He is also humane enough to match the stupidity of any human. The author
absolves himself of anyone spending more time imagining as a result of reading this book.
Lastly, if you choose not
to buy this book, not all will be lost because my wife, ‘the little woman’ as referred to so often herein, will
be ecstatic. It means she may get her wish that I stop wasting my time on such foolishness and grow up. Imagine that. Fat
chance! Sam Zane
