"LOVE how T.C. Makes you feel like you are in the book. Nothing better
than thinking you are one of the characters or at least their close friend. Thank you, T.C., for letting me ride a dragon,
even if only in my imagination." —Deborah Biter, avid reader.
~~~~~~~~~~~
"The familiar characters from the first three Disilluisonment books reach
a crisis point in this one, with Kira and Tarenek alternating viewpoints as they struggle both against the Pure Ones and against
Tarenek's growing (and apparently justified) fear of himself. It's fast paced and exciting, with heroic yet believably flawed
characters, and the author does a fine job of bringing this story to a conclusion while setting up the next one. For which
I must now eagerly wait! It's such a pleasure to watch an author grow as T.C. McMullen has while writing this series."
"I cannot wait for the 4th book. I am so obsessed... T.C. should definately
be a New York best seller with this series. Her writing style flows so nicely you feel like you are the characters, if not
a character, then watching a 3D movie." Deborah Biter, avid reader.
~~~~~~~~~~~
"Another character-driven, action-packed tale that carries the series forward and gives resolution to
some of its threads. It leaves plenty, though, for the next book to pick up; and I can't imagine anyone reading this one without
wanting to read the next. I certainly do!"

"Didn't think T.C. could top the first one. I was sooooo wrong! Could
not put it down. Her characters were so vivid and alive, I felt like I was there!" Deborah Biter, avid reader from
Pennsylvania
~~~~~~~~~
"This is the second installment in a sweeping story, one that spans an
altered planet and reaches out across space. It deals with not just simple good vs. evil, but with how good people can find
themselves caught in situations that change them for the worse. Its characters, both those brought forward from the first
book and those introduced during this one, come to life and respond realistically (although by no means predictably) to what
they encounter as well as to each other. These are complex people who are neither perfect nor always admirable, but they are
people the reader can't help caring about. Intriguing, imaginative, and exciting reading, with more books to come before the
story ends!"
What Readers Are Saying:
"There are no words to describe T.C.'s writing style. Absolutely fantastic, couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the
next book!" Deborah Biter, avid reader from Pennsylvania
~~~~~
"This first book in a new series makes a satisfying read on its own, but it promises a great deal more as the Inaut and
the Madai continue their stories. Tryn is just the sort of heroine I love to read about: smart, competent, self-confident,
with conflicts stemming from her sense of honor and from an on-going battle between her need to trust and her hard-learned
unwillingness to do so. Cedrik's secrets come out at just the right time as the plot unfolds, and the universe author McMullen
creates grows more believable - more "real" to the reader - with each detail and each new revelation. I hated to put it down,
and didn't except when forced to do so."

"In Desire (otherwise known as Scout), {T.C. McMullen} created
a memorable yet believable action heroine on whose coming of age struggle a continent's fate depends. The people surrounding
her are just as real, and the best thing about Desire - in this reader's opinion - is how her developing relationship with
one special man enhances instead of changes her. There's warning here, of what our own world's future may hold if we continue
on our current pathway; but there's also hope." --Reviewed by Nina M. Osier,

It's the year 2122, seventy-two years after the Upheaval that
changed the world.
The Earth is nothing like it once was -- rivers became oceans,
waters washed away sands and soil to leave jagged cliffs, earthquakes reformed mountain chains, northern lands froze, and
technology was lost or without resources to continue.
Humanity struggles on. Protecting the wall guarding civilized
borders from cannibalistic Oceaners is the main priority. One stone citadel full of armed forces stands outside the wall’s
center. Two more stand at the northern and southern borders. But good men to fill them are scarce.
Desire, trusted scout to the citadel leader, sees to thewelfare
of the east citadel men while remaining a mystery to all. She knows much about humanity's past, and things of the future before
they happen. She also knows secrets of the haunted outer lands everyone else fears.
When Oceaners band their forces to unconquerable numbers, she
must fight to help save the people of the civilized lands, but her home village and its citizens, ghosts of the wilds, may
be the world's only remaining formidable force if they can escape their own demise from within.
